About
Basin Harbor has operated as a family resort on Lake Champlain's eastern shore since 1886, making it one of the oldest continuously operating resorts in Vermont. The 700-acre property includes three miles of Champlain shoreline, a golf course, and a full-service spa with sauna. Lake Champlain is 120 miles long and forms the border between Vermont and New York, with the Adirondacks visible across the water to the west and the Green Mountains rising behind the property to the east. The resort's longevity — now in its fifth generation of family management — reflects the specific character of Champlain Valley resort culture: unhurried, landscape-centered, and genuinely connected to the agricultural and lake traditions of northwestern Vermont.
