Getting started

What is GoToSauna?+

GoToSauna is a discovery and booking platform for saunas, spas, and wellness experiences across Europe. We connect sauna lovers with sauna operators, so you can find and book the perfect experience in one place.

Do I need an account to browse?+

No. You can browse all listings without an account. You only need to sign up if you want to book a sauna, save favorites, or leave a review.

Is GoToSauna free to use?+

Browsing and searching is completely free. When you book a sauna, we charge a small service fee on top of the listing price — always shown before you pay.

Bookings

How do I book a sauna?+

Open any listing, choose a date and time, and click 'Book now' or 'Send request'. You'll pay securely via Stripe, and receive a confirmation email with all the details.

What's the difference between 'Book now' and 'Send request'?+

'Book now' is instant — your slot is reserved and paid for immediately. 'Send request' means the host needs to approve first. If they accept within 24 hours, we charge your card. If they don't, the request expires and you pay nothing.

Can I cancel or modify a booking?+

Yes. Go to Dashboard → Bookings to cancel or view details. Refund amounts depend on each listing's cancellation policy (flexible, moderate, or strict), shown at booking time.

Payments

What payment methods do you accept?+

We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.

Which currency am I charged in?+

You are charged in the listing's local currency. The price shown on the booking page is the final amount. Your bank may convert it to your home currency with their own rate.

When am I charged?+

For 'Book now' listings, you're charged immediately. For 'Send request' listings, your card is only charged when the host accepts.

Reviews

Who can leave a review?+

Anyone with a completed booking on GoToSauna can leave a review. Reviews linked to a booking show a 'Verified stay' badge.

Can I edit or delete a review?+

You can delete your review from your dashboard. We don't currently support editing — you'll need to delete and repost.

How do you handle fake reviews?+

Any review can be reported via the flag icon. If a review receives 3 or more reports, it's automatically hidden and queued for admin review. We remove reviews that violate our guidelines.

Hosts

How do I list my sauna?+

Go to 'For hosts' in the footer or header. Create an account, click 'Become a host', fill out your listing details, upload photos, and set your availability and price. Listings go live after a quick admin review.

How much does it cost to list?+

Listing on GoToSauna is free. We only take a small service fee when you receive a booking — no monthly or annual fees.

How do I get paid?+

We use Stripe Connect to pay out automatically. Set up your payout account in Dashboard → Payouts. Funds typically arrive 2–3 business days after a completed booking.

How do I get a verified badge?+

Go to Dashboard → Profile → Verify. We'll send a one-time code to your email. Enter it and your verified badge appears on all your listings.

Privacy & safety

How do you handle my personal data?+

We're fully GDPR-compliant. You can export all your data or delete your account at any time from your profile. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Is the site accessible?+

We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. The site supports keyboard navigation, screen readers, and high color contrast in both light and dark modes. See our Accessibility Statement for details.
