Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch is a National Historic Landmark in the Sawtooth Valley — one of the most beautiful alpine valleys in the American West, enclosed by the jagged granite peaks of the Sawtooth Range above the Salmon River headwaters. The 1930s ranch cabins sit on a bench above the valley floor with views of the Sawtooths that have not changed since they were built. The property's most extraordinary feature is its natural geothermal hot spring pool fed by springs that emerge at 110°F — the steaming pool in the cold mountain air, with elk grazing in the meadow and the Sawtooths reflected in the pool's surface, is one of Idaho's definitive experiences. The wood-fired sauna complements the hot spring circuit. The ranch is surrounded by the Sawtooth National Recreation Area's 756,000 acres of wilderness.
