About
Dunton Hot Springs is a restored 19th-century ghost town in the West Fork of the Dolores River canyon, in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. The entire town — saloon, dance hall, log cabins, tepee — has been converted into an exclusive all-inclusive resort where natural hot springs feed the bathing facilities and a wood-fired sauna sits beside the river at 8,600 feet of elevation. The property accommodates a maximum of 30 guests at full capacity, and the entire resort can be booked exclusively. The San Juan Mountains here form a 14,000-foot wall visible from the hot springs, and winter transforms the canyon into a snowbound wilderness accessible only by snowcat. This is the most cinematically dramatic hot spring and sauna setting in the American Southwest.
