About the Hotel
The Boulders Resort is named for its most distinguishing feature — the massive 12-million-year-old granite boulders that loom over the property in the high Sonoran Desert north of Scottsdale, some as large as six stories, creating an otherworldly landscape that feels like the Colorado Plateau in miniature. The resort's Sonoran Spa is a three-story adobe spa built into the boulder landscape with Finnish sauna, outdoor hot pools set among the granite formations, and desert heat rituals using local botanicals. The two championship Jay Morrish-designed golf courses wind through the boulder fields and cactus forests. In the desert winter (November through April), temperatures are ideal for outdoor activities; summer heat is mitigated by the resort's outdoor misting systems, shaded terraces, and pool complex.
