About the Hotel
The Dolder Grand crowns the Zürichberg hill with panoramic views over the city, Lake Zürich, and the Alps. The hotel opened in 1899 and was fully renovated by Norman Foster in 2008, a combination of heritage and high-design renovation that few other European grand hotels can claim.
The 4,000-square-metre spa is the wellness headline — a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, 18 treatment rooms, and a fitness centre laid out across one of the largest hotel spa floors in Europe. The scale matches the building: this is a destination spa inside a destination hotel.
The Dolder Grand also runs an art collection of over 100 works displayed throughout the property and two restaurants. The 175 rooms and suites span heritage and contemporary categories, and the hilltop position gives every guest a view back over the city, the lake, or the Alps. For travelers who want sauna and serious art and serious architecture in a single Zürich stay, this is the obvious pick.
