About the Hotel
House of Architects stands on Poststrasse at the heart of Vals village, 1,252 metres up in the Valser Tal, Graubünden — a destination that acquired global architectural significance when Peter Zumthor completed his Pritzker Prize-winning Therme Vals bathhouse of locally quarried grey quartzite. The hotel is the natural lodging partner for Therme Vals guests: three restaurants, a bar, a fireplace lounge, a library and an indoor and outdoor pool frame an extended stay in a place that rewards slow exploration.
The 7000 Stones land-art trail through the village — conceived by sculptor Not Vital — makes for a contemplative afternoon walk, while the Zervreilasee dam lake lies up the valley. In winter, a ski shuttle and ski storage serve guests heading into the surrounding alpine terrain. Summer hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing connect the hotel to the wider Surselva region of Graubünden, one of Switzerland's most unspoilt mountain landscapes.
