About
Farris Bad is the largest spa hotel in Scandinavia by facility size — a 2,500 m² dedicated spa complex built directly above Norway's only natural mineral water spring, which surfaces at a constant 27°C. This is not a hotel that happens to have a spa; the spa is the reason the hotel was built. Sixteen separate saunas run from a classic Finnish sauna at 100°C to a salt cave, an aromatherapy steam sauna, a smoke sauna, an ice sauna, and outdoor saunas positioned on the beach with direct access to the sea.
The 25-metre mineral-water pool is free for all guests, and the thermal bathing circuit takes you through contrast pools, experience showers, and heated recliners. The hotel has been a destination in its own right since the original spa was established on the Farris mineral spring, and continues to attract sauna masters for events and ceremonies throughout the year.
Larvik is 100 km southwest of Oslo, reachable in 90 minutes by the Vestfold Line train, and the hotel's beach position gives it a setting that most inland wellness retreats cannot replicate.
