About the Hotel
Hunguest Buk occupies a prime position on Termál tér — the central square of Bükfürdő — placing it at the very hub of one of Hungary's most celebrated thermal resort towns. Since the discovery of the calcium-magnesium-hydrogen-carbonate spring in 1957, the waters drawn at 58°C from 1,282 metres have made Bükfürdő a year-round destination for health and wellness travel, and the Hunguest sits moments from the Bükfürdői Gyógy- és Élményfürdő thermal complex with its indoor and outdoor pools. The hotel itself offers a full-service spa with sauna, steam room, and massage facilities, plus an indoor pool and bicycle hire for exploring the surrounding countryside.
Built in 2004, Hunguest Buk keeps things sociable with a restaurant, bar, snack bar, and a lively recreation programme including basketball, billiards, table tennis, foosball, and an arcade. The adjacent Bük Golf Course — one of Hungary's first 18-hole layouts — draws golfers from across Central Europe. Day trips from Bükfürdő are rewarding: the baroque streets of Sopron lie about 60 kilometres to the northwest, the mediaeval fortified town of Kőszeg is under 30 kilometres away, and the Roman heritage of Szombathely — ancient Savaria — is easily accessible for a half-day excursion.
