About the Hotel
Violetta Hotel sits at the edge of the Atalanti Gulf in Kamena Vourla, a Greek spa resort on the Phthiotis coast roughly two hours north of Athens. The town's thermal springs have been valued since Roman times, their sulphurous waters flowing from the base of Knimída Mountain into spa facilities that draw visitors throughout the year. From the seafront the low silhouette of the Lichades Islands marks the channel between the mainland and the northern tip of Euboea, offering a scenic backdrop to morning swims in the gulf. Kamena Vourla's beach promenade is lined with hotels and treatment centres, but the hills above town give way quickly to pine forest and the rugged terrain of the Othrys range. For day trips, the archaeological site of Thermopylae – where Leonidas and the 300 Spartans made their stand – is a short drive west along the National Road.
