About the Hotel
Top Hotel Jagdschloss Niederwald sits above Rüdesheim in the Niederwald forest — a former hunting lodge of the Dukes of Nassau, now a country hotel inside the UNESCO-listed Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The location is the draw: woodland on three sides, the Niederwalddenkmal monument and the cable car to Rüdesheim a short distance away, and views down to the river bend.
The hotel runs a full-service spa with sauna, indoor pool and fitness centre, plus two outdoor tennis courts, a garden and a terrace — wellness here is genuinely part of the offering rather than an add-on. Restaurant, bar/lounge, limited room service and meeting rooms cover the day-to-day side, with a banquet hall for weddings and small conferences. A playground makes it usable for family stays as well as couples.
From the lodge, the Niederwalddenkmal — the 38 m Germania monument over the Rhine — is a 15-minute walk through the forest. Rüdesheim's Drosselgasse, the cable car, river boat tours and Asbach distillery sit at the foot of the hill. Wiesbaden and Frankfurt Airport are roughly an hour by car. A good fit for couples and small groups looking for a quiet, forested base for the Middle Rhine.
