About the Hotel
Explorer Hotel Oberstdorf stands in Fischen im Allgäu, a small village in the upper Iller valley a few kilometres north of Oberstdorf. The 2010-built property is part of the Explorer Hotels chain — a climate-friendly active-sports concept aimed at skiers, mountain bikers and Allgäu hikers who want practical kit and a working wet-area rather than in-room luxury.
Wellness is full-service: sauna, steam room and treatment rooms in the spa, plus a dedicated fitness centre. Breakfast is supported by a water dispenser and snack bar, ski passes are sold at the desk, and the property keeps ski storage, bike storage and bike cleaning on site, with electric-bike charging stations and multilingual staff. Vegan and vegetarian dining options run through the kitchen, and the building uses double-glazed windows and a comprehensive recycling and food-waste policy.
The Oberstdorf-Fischen area is one of the best-known corners of the Allgäu Alps — Söllereck, Fellhorn and Kanzelwand all close by in winter, with the Nebelhorn and a dense network of summer trails through the Iller valley. The hotel works as a base for active winters, summer biking and the chain's standard build of climate-aware accommodation.
