Explorer Hotel - Ötztal

Explorer Hotel Ötztal sits in Umhausen at the entrance to the Ötztal valley in Tirol — the home valley of Ötzi the Iceman and one of Austria's deepest alpine valleys, running 65 km up to the Sölden ski area and the Tiroler glaciers. The 2018-built property is part of the Explorer Hotels chain, a climate-conscious active-sports concept. Wellness is full-service: a sauna, steam room and treatment rooms in the spa, plus a dedicated health club. The chain runs a free breakfast buffet (6:30–10:30), a water dispenser and snack bar, electric-bike charging stations, bike cleaning and ski storage. Lighting is at least 80% LED, vegan and vegetarian options run through the kitchen, and food-waste and recycling policies are in place. Umhausen is a quieter base than the busy upper Ötztal: the Ötzi-Dorf open-air museum is in the village, Aqua Dome (Tirol's largest thermal-bath complex) is in nearby Längenfeld, and the Sölden lift system is about 30 minutes up the valley. Innsbruck Airport is roughly an hour away. A good fit for skiers, mountain bikers and travellers using the Ötztal Aqua Dome as part of the trip.
