Hotel Brosundet

Hotel Brosundet is an exclusive boutique hotel set in a restored 1904 sjøhus (sea house) directly on the Brosundet canal in Ålesund's Art Nouveau centre. The hotel has 47 individually decorated rooms with exposed timber beams, Nordic design, and views over the canal or the surrounding mountains. The wellness floor includes a sauna and access to spa treatments, and the iconic lighthouse suite 'Molja' offers a genuinely unusual stay inside a restored lighthouse on the breakwater. Few hotels anywhere can match that kind of accommodation, and the sauna sits well within the broader character of the property. The hotel's restaurant Maki serves award-winning sushi in the historic sea house. The position at the heart of Ålesund's Art Nouveau quarter makes it easy to explore the city on foot, including the Jugendstilsenteret museum and the staircase up to Aksla viewpoint with its panoramic views over the harbour and the fjords.
